Christopher R. Shiplett - Attorney

Chris Shiplett is the founder and sole member of Randolph Law. He specializes in representing clients' trademark and copyrights, and in representing software and online companies in all manner of transactions and in disputes and litigation.

Prior to attending law school, Chris was the principal of an IT consulting company that specialized in business process analysis and software support for federal government agencies, and the technical director of a software-as-a-service company that developed web based software for business continuity planning. Chris began his career as a database administrator and developer for a defense contractor.

As an attorney, Chris has represented clients in a number of Oppositions and Cancellations at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO, and has successfully represented hundreds of trademark owners in successfully applying for federal registration of their marks. Chris has also represented clients successfully in domain arbitration at WIPO. He is experienced in drafting licensing agreements, web site privacy policies and terms of use, developer agreements, and other transactional documents for software companies and other intellectual property based companies.
